There may be many different reasons to why people still continue to purchase music magazines, as even though they are probably not the most well-known magazines in the world, they still provide lots of information for music fans.
One of the main reasons why fans buy these types of magazines would be for all the fantastic competitions; ranging from winning signed abulms and singles to winning the chance to go to a popular festival and getting to meet your favourite artists. Of course these competitions are different, depending on what type of music genre magazine you buy. For rock/heavy metal types of magazines, the most likely thing you could win would be a popular festival suited to your genre however for pop music magazines, a big event such as Summer Time Ball or the exclusive chance to meet your favourite artist would be expected. The other thing music magazines are possibly most famous for are the reviews they include about new song releases, music videos and albums. Music fans may enjoy these reviews as they are more professional then perhaps normal magazines and newspapers because they are coming from an actual music magazine. Not only do music magazines present reviews about music, some also write about DVDs, books and recently released films. This could cover a wider range of audiences as it includes something for everyone. Music magazines may also include courage of key events such as popular gigs or popular concerts in a particular music genre's history which will become of great interest to music fans.
Almost every music magazine will also contain a current download list to find out what's in the charts so fans can know what everyone is listening to and what is popular in the music industry at the moment. These may also differ depending on what music genre magazine you purchase. For example, rock magazines may include a current download list for rock music so each type of magazine can please their particular music fans.
Another thing that is also very useful for music fans is the concert avertisements that music magazines present as they can find out how much, when and where upcoming gigs are. Music magazine may also be able to give special offers which involve being able to get discount on tickets.
Latest news from particular artists also cover main articles in music magazines as they contain interviews of some of the music fans' favourite artists. Some of the news (including behind the scenes gossip) may also be about films or other famous celebrities so there is something suitable for everyone.
One of the more unique information music magazines provide is that you can find out about new music stars before anyone else has. Some music press can boost artist's careers (like 'Alternative Press' magazine did with 'Red Hot Chili Peppers' and 'Fall Out Boy'). This means bands can be touted as the next big thing before they've even released a recording.

Music Video Review
Justin Bieber - 'Beauty And A Beat' ft Nicki Minaj
Normal artists like to premiere their new videos through TV shows, music channels or even radio stations. However, Justin Bieber takes the release of his brand new music video to a completely different level...The young star played a prank on all his fans by announcing his laptop had been stolen and personal footage had been released by a hacker (although this impressive stunt was just leading up to the release of his new single 'Beauty And A Beat')Even though the release of Justin's video was particularly clever, the music video itself is also very unique ; giving a whole different view towards the music industry. 'Beauty And A Beat' has a DIY look about it as most of the video is personally shot by the one and only Justin Bieber. Throughout the video, the camera is constantly being turned around to face the star as he walks around an eventful pool party which includes dancers and even synchronized swimmers. However, at the beginning of the video, you can tell the type of prank Justin was trying to set up as a few clips of exclusive video footage is shown before the music kicks in and the official video starts.
Many typical music videos are known for how high-budget they are and their clever effects however for Justin's new video, this doesn't seem to be the case. Justin continues to film the video with an ordinary camera and films like a typical home or blogger's video would be shot. During the video, Justin continues to sing his new track until he reaches Nicki Minaj by the pool who does a short rap before he starts singing again. The video doesn't include any acting like normal music videos would, just the star smiling which is exactly how his fans aprove of him! Even though the video is quite out of the ordinary, Justin does include one thing which is quite normal to be witnessed in his previous videos; his dancing.
This intelligent and original idea definitely shows off how creative some artists can be. Especially as the video was written, directed and filmed by Justin, no one can deney that the boy has talent. The song itself is very catchy and with a fantastic video like that, it's no wonder it already has over 20 million views in it's first week of release!

Single Review
Lawson-'Taking Over Me'
Compared to Lawson's first single; 'When She Was Mine', 'Taking Over Me' is much more up-beat and expresses a lot more positivity then the last break-up ballad they released. Considering this is only the band's second single, it definetly produces the type of pop material needed to make the charts. The band's first single secured an impressive 4th place in the charts so who says Lawson cannot continue their success? Especially that in my opinion, 'Taking Over Me' is even better then the debut single. The lead singer Andy Brown continues to show off his unique talent through his lyrics (which have been revealed to be about ex-girlfriend Mollie King from 'the Saturdays') by expressing a positive outlook of a relationship. Not only are the lyrics up to scratch, the melody and catchy chorus have also proven to give the song a classic rock-pop sound which is what the band is all about. The band explain that this song is complete opposite to their first single as 'Taking Over Me' is about the positive start to a new relationship, not a heartbreak from the past...The new British band have continued to produced great music as 'Taking Over Me' gives off happy vibes a classic summer anthem needs and is sure to be a hit.

Album Review
Album Review- The Wanted 'Battleground'
'Battleground' is the boys second album to date and is filled with pop classics and songs ranging from extremly slow ballads to up-beat dance tracks. The album includes their top single 'Glad You Came' which went triple platinum in America and straight to number one in the UK. Their other popular singles 'Lightening' and comic relief single 'Gold Forever' also feature on the album. However 'Warzone' (which is their latest single to be presented on the album) was one of their only singles to be co-written by two of the band members; Nathan Sykes and Max George. With other boybands such as JLS and One Direction in the charts, it is sometimes hard for The Wanted to have a unique selling point in the music industry although 'Battleground' features songs with a much more edgier sounding then your everyday pop song. 'Lie To Me' is a great example of this and 'Last To Know' is also another slightly darker midtempo track with emotional lyrics. Nearly every song on the album is fairly catchy, while the ballads prove that the boys have great vocals.
Overall, the album contains a mixture of songs which continue to show off their elctro-pop sound and will not disappoint.
