Single Review

Lawson-'Taking Over Me'

Compared to Lawson's first single; 'When She Was Mine', 'Taking Over Me' is much more up-beat and expresses a lot more positivity then the last break-up ballad they released. Considering this is only the band's second single, it definetly produces the type of pop material needed to make the charts. The band's first single secured an impressive 4th place in the charts so who says Lawson cannot continue their success? Especially that in my opinion, 'Taking Over Me' is even better then the debut single. The lead singer Andy Brown continues to show off his unique talent through his lyrics (which have been revealed to be about ex-girlfriend Mollie King from 'the Saturdays') by expressing a positive outlook of a relationship. Not only are the lyrics up to scratch, the melody and catchy chorus have also proven to give the song a classic rock-pop sound which is what the band is all about. The band explain that this song is complete opposite to their first single as 'Taking Over Me' is about the positive start to a new relationship, not a heartbreak from the past...
The new British band have continued to produced great music as 'Taking Over Me' gives off happy vibes a classic summer anthem needs and is sure to be a hit.
